I have always wanted to shoot a wedding at the magical Hearst Castle in San Simeon, CA and was excited when Mallary and Allan hired us for their special day. Allen is British and Mallary is from Mississippi so the mix of cultures and accents made it even more fun. To top it off, their families created all of the amazing decorations, made the cakes, and draped the entire reception hall with fabric, lights and lace. Traditional British cake made by the groom’s mother featured British and American flags created out of fondant. The groom’s table also featured old family wedding photos and a map of his home town.

The bride’s cake table featured a topper that has been used in her family for over 50 years, a sword that has been used in the groom’s family to cut the cake for over 75 years, old family wedding photos and a map of the brides home town.

The family was up half the night before the wedding draping and decorating the reception hall. It was breathtakingly beautiful and full of Southern and British influences.
