A few weeks ago we had beautiful Haruka in the studio for her Shichi-Go-San<span style=\"font-weight: normal\"> <b>portrait<\/b>.<\/span> Shichi-Go-San<span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><b> or &#8220;Seven-Five-Three&#8221;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: normal\"> <b>is<\/b> <\/span>a Japanese tradition in which children receive a blessing during their <\/span>7th, 5th and 3rd years to celebrate their growth and well-being. In modern days this celebration also includes photography to mark this important time. The young one gets dressed in their traditional Japanese attire like the the obi and kimono, and are taken to the shrine for their blessing and to the photographer for their portrait.&nbsp;<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<table align=\"center\" cellpadding=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/studio101west.com\/portrait-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/mishimura_2889.jpg\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"7 year old Kimono Portrait\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/studio101west.com\/portrait-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/mishimura_2889.jpg\" title=\"Shichi-Go-San Portrait\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr align=\"left\">\n<td><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><b>Part of the tradition is the Chitose Ame <span style=\"font-weight: normal\"><b>or<\/b><\/span> &#8220;thousand year candy<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><b><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><b>,<\/b><\/span><\/span>&#8221;&nbsp; given to children on Shichi-Go-San.
