I love it when families take the time to coordinate their clothing. Whenever I book a family or high school senior portrait session I email them a confirmation on our session time and place, as well as tips on what to wear. Kirsten, the mom in this family, obviously read my email and that was a big part of making this very cute family look amazing in their portraits. During my outdoor portrait sessions I always try to get several different family group pictures as well as shots of just the kids and just the parents. Sometimes the little ones start off a little apprehensive, but in the end they are giving me hi-fives and having a fun time. Oh, there has been a few little “gangstas” over the past 20+ years that even the parents’ promise of ice cream or threats of spankings has failed to change their attitude. But, I do my best to make it fun for everyone and after doing it for so long it just comes natural to me.<\/p>\n

Capturing the family dynamics can be the most precious part of a photograph. Having two older brothers I can totally relate to the middle kid in this photograph.<\/p>\n
